The Art of Service Helps IT Professionals Safeguard Their Careers

SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 9, 2011 — With the introduction of cloud computing, it is easier for small and midsized businesses to have the benefit of IT service and software without the burden of having specialist IT professionals on the payroll.

The Art of Service Founder Ivanka Menken explained how "the typical hardcore programmer" is no longer needed by businesses with cloud computing. As a matter of fact, she believes that the transition will allow for growth in the maturity of the IT industry.

"The business owner can have a direct impact on the choices of the type of IT service that is used in the organization," said Menken. "There will still be requirements for software developers and system administrators, but the more people start to rely on cloud computing, the more these jobs shift to the provider."

This does not mean that IT jobs are a thing of the past, however an IT professional who understands that IT services are meant to support businesses instead of drive businesses will be more in demand.

"For certain jobs, cloud computing will actually mean that a career will be created or at least valued more," said Menken. "For example — service-based support people will be a lot more 'in fashion.'"

In order for IT professionals to further develop their career, Menken suggests that they enroll in The Art of Service Cloud Computing Pathway to safeguard their career for less than $1,500.
