A World-Class Education: Tutoring Programs Such as Club Z! Help Keep American Students Competitive in International Rankings

Elaine Cozart's new Club Z! In-Home Tutoring Services location aims to boost Seattle students' grades while helping them build the confidence needed for lifelong success

SEATTLE, March 14, 2011 — We've all heard it before: US educational rankings are falling behind those of many other industrialized nations, and, most alarmingly, our math and science education is becoming less and less competitive at the worldwide level. While politicians, educators, and concerned citizens alike view this as a disturbing trend that must be addressed and reversed, new Club Z! franchise owner and Area Director Elaine Cozart sees something different as well: opportunity.

"This is a very exciting time for education," Ms. Cozart states, "both for those seeking it and for those providing it. In order to stay ahead of international competition, our kids need every educational advantage they can get."

Advantages are exactly what Ms. Cozart hopes to provide by owning and operating her own Club Z! location in the Seattle area. While teachers, schools, and parents are united in the effort to help children succeed and thrive in school, sometimes another ally is needed. Tutoring programs such as those offered by Club Z! can often provide the extra support and assistance that makes all the difference in turning a stressed and struggling child into a successful and confident one – one with the right tools to continue learning and achieving.

With an excellent 15-year reputation and hundreds of thousands of happy clients, Club Z! is well-respected and well-loved for its supportive tutoring style and high success rates. The program is unique in that tutoring sessions are conducted on a one-on-one basis in the comfort and security of a child's own home – an environment in which distractions can easily be minimized and the child is better able to focus and learn. Tutors are pre-screened subject-area experts, and scheduling is flexible and parent-friendly.

"The in-home tutoring model is a huge benefit for busy families like my own," says Ms. Cozart. "The program is also affordable, so that students that need the help are able to get it." Club Z! offers tutoring to students of all ages and ability levels, in subjects ranging from basic math and reading, to core academic classes, to study skill building and standardized test preparation.

By owning a local franchise, Ms. Cozart is also able to provide for the unique needs of her own community. "Seattle is a city rich in international culture and high-tech industry," she comments. "To meet those demands, we have quite a few ESL, upper-level math, and science tutors. Additionally, with the area's high rate of college-bound students, we will offer college test prep and study skills programs, each tailored to the individual needs of each student."

Ms. Cozart credits her decision to purchase and manage a Club Z! location to the company's culture, which she describes as "a passion to help kids succeed where they are struggling and to excel where they feel comfortable." Although her own background is in the high-tech industry, she says, "Club Z! felt like the perfect fit: I get to provide high-quality educational services through top-notch teachers, while using my own relationship, organization, project-management, and business skills. Education has always been of interest to me."

Overall, she stresses, each temporary struggle in school indicates a window of opportunity. She concludes, "I am very excited about the opportunity to help our kids get ahead, building the confidence required to be competitive."
