W.J. Deutsch & Sons Named Exclusive U.S. Importer for LICOR 43

Addition of Spain's best-selling liqueur strengthens spirits portfolio

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Dec. 22, 2011 — W.J. Deutsch & Sons, Ltd. (Deutsch), a leading wine and spirit supplier of more than 25 award-winning brands from around the world, and Diego Zamora SA, the renowned Spanish spirits and wine company, have extended their relationship. Effective March 1, 2012, Deutsch will be the exclusive U.S. importer for LICOR 43, the best-selling Spanish liqueur in the world, and will be responsible for all sales and marketing activities in the United States.

LICOR 43, a liqueur produced in Cartagena in southeastern Spain, draws its name from the 43 Mediterranean herbs and fruits from which it is produced.

"After more than 40 years of worldwide sales success, we made the decision to consolidate the sales and marketing of our nationally distributed brands in the U.S. with a single importer," said Emilio Restoy Cabrera, Managing Director of Diego Zamora. "Deutsch's excellent distributor network, coupled with their outstanding track record on the other Zamora brands that they represent, made them the ideal choice."

"My Dad and I decided to extend our portfolio into the spirits category two years ago, and we have grown this new business rapidly by partnering with other family businesses that produce high-quality products to fulfill consumer needs," said Peter Deutsch, CEO of W.J. Deutsch & Sons. "We have worked closely with Emilio and his team to grow Villa Massa Limoncello and Ramon Bilbao wines, and we are very excited about our new partnership to help LICOR 43 reach its full potential in the U.S."

Made with all-natural ingredients, LICOR 43 offers a smooth, rich flavor of citrus and herb, rounded by a light touch of vanilla – a unique drink with an unbeatable quality, completely different from any other liqueur. The exact formula, which is derived from a thousand-year-old formula dating back to the Roman Empire, remains a secret, known only by three members of the Zamora family.

"The ever-increasing popularity of specialty cocktails, coupled with consumer willingness to experiment, is driving interest in spirit brands that offer something truly unique," said Tom Steffanci, President, W.J. Deutsch & Sons. "With its quality taste and wonderful versatility, LICOR 43 is ideally suited to be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in a variety shots and cocktails. It is an excellent addition to our spirits line-up, and we are confident that our sales force and distributor network will focus their collective energy on growing it rapidly. LICOR 43 is the fastest growing premium liqueur in the world* and well on its way to becoming one of the most important brands in the category. We expect the U.S. to exceed the current 30% global growth rate in the coming year."

LICOR 43 is nationally available in 50ml ($2.99), 375ml ($14.99), 750ml ($25.99), 1L ($32.99) and 1.75L ($45.99). Prices may vary by market.
