'Unmasking Feng Shui': Is Trying to Find Your Inner Chi a Dangerous Game?

GRANTS PASS, Ore., Sept. 30, 2009 — "Unmasking Feng Shui – A Christian Perspective," a new book by Catelin Hoover, takes a detailed look at the art of Feng Shui by asking questions and providing the answers from a Christian viewpoint. The book itself answers the very important question of whether Feng Shui is merely an ancient philosophy or if it is potentially dangerous.

Feng Shui offers a wide variety of options. It claims to cure illnesses, help you to stay in good health, and provide many other alternative forms of healing. Many also use Feng Shui to consult on interior design, architecture, and building structure among many others. Hoover elaborates on the idea of whether Feng Shui is beneficial, dangerous or a hoax.

"Unmasking Feng Shui – A Christian Perspective" answers questions such as how scientific and medical professionals evaluate the health and healing methods of Feng Shui. More specifically, what is Feng Shui? Is it a church or a religion? Is it a pseudo-science or a client cult? These questions and many more are examined closely in the book.

Hoover takes all of the components of Feng Shui and compares it to the methods and beliefs as stated in the Bible. Many Christians have little or no knowledge of Feng Shui and many have expressed interest in learning. She helps readers to understand that Feng Shui is not innocent and harmless as it is marketed. Instead it is a threat to the Christian belief and what the Bible teaches.
