New University Alliance Publication Highlights Florida Tech's 23 In-Demand Online Degree Programs for Professionals Seeking a Competitive Edge With Higher Education

Job applicants can stand out in today's competitive market with associate's, bachelor's or master's degrees from nationally ranked Florida Tech – 100% online

TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 8, 2009 — Today, more than ever, those who want to establish a successful career need a college education. In the latest College Board publication titled Education Pays, findings confirm that students who attend institutions of higher education obtain a wide range of personal, financial and other lifelong benefits.

With studies consistently linking advanced degrees to higher salaries and lower unemployment, professionals in the job market are looking to earn college degrees in record numbers. However, the current economy is making it impractical for many people to attend college on a full-time basis. As a result, students are increasingly opting to work and pursue a degree online from accredited universities such as Florida Tech.

Located on Florida's Space Coast, Florida Institute of Technology began collaborating with the University Alliance Online in 2004 to create and deliver the most innovative online learning experience on the market today.

"Florida Tech students have the flexibility to choose from 23 in-demand associate's, bachelor's and master's degree programs – offered 100% online – through a state-of-the-art e-learning system," said Shawn Daugherty, senior brand manager of University Alliance, a worldwide leader in interactive professional education.

In addition to the associate's degree in liberal arts, Florida Tech recently added the following online associate's degrees: accounting, criminal justice, healthcare management, marketing and computer information systems (CIS). Bachelor's degree programs range from accounting and numerous business tracks to criminal justice and CIS. Master's offerings include six different MBAs plus an MS in information technology.

Although the university's college of business just launched its online MBA program in May 2008 with 70 students, enrollment is now at 665. "This growth is remarkable," said Dr Bob Niebuhr, Dean of the Nathan M. Bisk College of Business. "We believe it's due largely to our award-winning faculty members and high-quality online programs which are appealing to active professionals pursuing higher education."

Recently named a "Military Friendly" school by both GI Jobs magazine and Military Advanced Education Journal, Florida Tech is proud to offer the following military education benefits to servicemembers and their families:

  • Special military tuition rates and book discounts
  • Montgomery GI Bill, Post-9/11 GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon program participant
  • Military spouse and qualified dependant discount
  • My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) participant
  • Veteran's education benefits
  • Leading participant in the Army Continuing Education System – GoArmyEd.com
