FAIRFIELD, N.J., Dec. 21, 2009 — Supporters of Italian American heritage are urged to celebrate the positive accomplishments of this incredibly rich culture through the new 2010 Italian American Heritage Calendar now available through UNICO National, President Andre' DiMino announced today.

"Unlike what we've seen on MTV and other media which may portray negative and stereotypical images of Italian Americans, our Italian American Heritage Calendar celebrates the richness, diversity, and brilliance of a vibrant culture that continues to transform the world," said UNICO National President Andre' DiMino. "The calendar is also a powerful educational tool that helps promote and recognize the accomplishments of our culture and forebears."

Throughout history and continuing today, Italians and Italian Americans have made incredible contributions to world culture in all fields, including science, entertainment, business, the arts, sports, religion, cooking, and so much more. Some of the names featured in the calendar say it all: Dante Alighieri, Leonardo Da Vinci, Columbus, Maria Montessori, Yogi Berra, Galileo, Antonio Meucci, Samuel Alito, Nancy Pelosi, Sgt. John Basilone, Enrico Fermi, are among the many featured.

In fact, the calendar highlights 365 Italians and Italian Americans who've had an impact in our world, past and present. It features important Italian American heritage historical events, births, deaths, coats of arms from the regions of Italy and more. The beautifully printed keepsake wall calendars were produced through the efforts of UNICO's Anti-Bias Committee and sell for $6 plus postage. The calendar may be purchased by calling the UNICO National office at 973-808-0035. A fundraiser/bulk discount rate is also available.

They also make a great gift for the holiday season. The richness, diversity and brilliance of the culture makes the 2010 UNICO Italian American Heritage Calendar a must to have on a daily basis!
