TiaLinx, Inc. Announces Its Selection for 2009 Army Commercialization Pilot Program

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., April 24, 2009 — TiaLinx, Inc., a developer of mm-wave integrated radio and antenna arrays, today announced its selection as a recipient of the 2009 Army Commercialization Pilot Program (CPP), enabling transition of its UWB imaging family of products to volume productization. TiaLinx was selected as one of the 25 companies out of 487 candidates. An SBIR phase II award (contract W15QKN-08-C-0247) from the Department of Army was the driver behind the development of Eagle5 ultra wideband (UWB) Imaging System for precision object detection as well as tracking of individuals behind walls.

"Resolution enhancement and miniaturization of current products are being enabled by the Army's CPP," commented Dr. Fred Mohamadi, Founder and CEO of TiaLinx. "TiaLinx's ultra-sensitive, lightweight and small footprint mm-wave RF imaging products have been identified as one of the advance products that can have a high impact in combating terrorism and saving lives."

The proposed advanced mm-wave radar will be deployed to address detection of unexploded ordnances behind walls, on-road and off-road, and surveillance of desired objects in land, sea and air. The benefit of such a system is an agnostic operation under deteriorated environmental conditions including fog, rain and smog to address matters of homeland security. In addition to a multitude of applications in various areas of conflict, the system is suitable for regions that suffer from an epidemic of landmines and unexploded ordnances. The mm-wave radar and its associated RF imaging capability can be used to address the eradication of mines.
