'The Portal to Forever': Bonnie Sullivan Raymond Weaves an Epic Tale of Fantasy, Adventure and Familial Bonds

HAVRE de GRACE, Md., Nov. 17, 2009 — In the epic new fantasy novel by Bonnie Sullivan Raymond, "The Portal to Forever" (published by AuthorHouse), the once-peaceful Kingdom of Ashmirl and its king are being held for ransom by the evil wizard Soldrin, who has promised not to stop until the Book of the Elven Chronicles — and subsequently, the secret to the Portal to Forever — is relinquished to him. Brought back from the human world, Prince Leerec, the younger son of the King, calls upon all his family, friends and allies to defeat Soldrin and restore his father to the throne.

The Kingdom of Ashmirl has been overrun by demons, trolls, gargoyles and other monstrous creatures who have ravaged the land and sent the other beings of the kingdom into hiding. Soldrin, their leader, has a lust for power and plans to gain control of the Elven world and all those that join it through the Portal to Forever. Two of the few remaining advisors of the house of Ash, Trev and Flan travel through the portal to rescue Prince Leerec from a plane he was about to board, which was destined to be hijacked and destroyed. Instead, they take him back to his father's kingdom and tell him of Ashmirl's plight. But their conversation is overheard and Soldrin is alerted to Leerec's arrival.

After arranging for a welcoming committee for Leerec, Soldrin makes a pact with the demon Groz who agrees to help the wizard secure the Book of the Elven Chronicles. But Groz is much more powerful and uncontrollable than could be imagined and he sets off to find the other ancient demons who have lain dormant for centuries just waiting for the chance to rise again.

Soldrin's welcoming committee for Leerec results in a thwarted assassination attempt that leaves Leerec wounded by a poison-tipped knife. His wound can only be cured by Leerec's half-human, half-elven daughter, Silfa, who was left in the human world thinking her father had died in the airplane crash. Trev and Flan set off again to bring back Silfa and others, including Leerec's wife, Sandy; his son, Joshrec; and their friend, the witch Hecate, her two special "cats," and two Elven shape shifters.

Once Silfa has cured her father, they all set off in pursuit of the ancient dragon, Falon, to aid them in their quest to overcome the demonic Groz and Soldrin's evil machinations. On their journey they will encounter many evil creatures, including a Tri-Serp, a Spider Nymph, winged gargoyles, four-armed gorilla animals and demented trolls. But they will also meet with friends and allies, including the Treefolk, the Golden Unicorn, a Tig-geer and others. They will learn to rely on each other and their special powers to find a way to defeat Soldrin and his evil army.

Full of heart, adventure and magical battles between good and evil, "The Portal to Forever" follows Prince Leerec on his journey to protect the magical Elven Kingdom of Ashmirl and all the worlds connected to it through the Portal to Forever.
