Tango Card Announces the Tango Meter(TM), a Unique Tool to Help People Use Gift Card Value

Company continues consumer-oriented technology and service leadership

SEATTLE, May 7, 2010 — Tango Card today announces the Tango Meter(TM), a new tool in its free web service and iPhone application. The Tango Meter is a visual way for people to see when they risk losing value on their gift cards. Tango Card customers include gift cards in their accounts. When a gift card is first added, the Tango Meter for that card is green. Using a proprietary algorithm, a card may then turn yellow and ultimately red if the card's balance does not change. A red Tango Meter indicates a high risk that a specific card's value may never be used.

"Industry research indicates – and more importantly our members have told us – if they receive and do not use a gift card within a few months of receiving it, they often never use the gift card," said David Leeds, CEO and Founder of Tango Card. "We developed the Tango Meter to provide a simple visual clue to help people use more of their gift card value. As members use their accounts, they quickly see which of their cards have not been used. Our approach with the color-coded Tango Meter is to highlight aging gift cards and particularly those that may be ignored or forgotten and ultimately not used."

Shelley Hunter of Gift Card Girlfriend (http://www.giftcardgirlfriend.com) is using Tango Card and found immediate real value. "The Tango Card service prompts me to use my gift cards as well as the ones my kids receive. I register all of our gift cards into the Tango Card application and check back frequently to track card values. When I first started registering my cards, I included one I'd carried in my wallet for a few years because the store location in my area closed. Using Tango Card, I discovered the card had $17 on it, and I immediately used the card for an online purchase. Tango Card did me a favor, and the Tango Meter will be especially helpful to make sure this does not happen to me or anyone in my family again."

"Tango Card's Tango Meter and improved balance update features work perfectly for me. These features help me track and use my gift cards," said Drew Matich, a long-time Tango Card customer.

"We are really excited about how this technology is helping our customers, and we are excited to release this in time for Mother's Day, which is the third biggest occasion for Gift Card giving," Leeds concludes.

Tango Card provides the simplest and most complete way to manage and use gift cards and is the first company whose primary focus is helping people use the value of the cards they own. To learn more, visit http://www.tangocard.com or find our Tango Card iPhone application on Apple's app store.
