Midwestern Hub of International Engineering Firm Complements Team Expertise with Addition of Security Management and Audiovisual Design Professionals

(SHG), a global consulting, engineering and commissioning firm, is announcing that industry veterans Michael Bendis and Scott Voorhis have joined the firm's Chicago office as senior Information and Communication Technology (ICT) professionals.
Mr. Bendis, a security management expert and Mr. Voorhis, an audiovisual design specialist, have been brought on to build upon the award-winning expertise and success of the Chicago office. Both are recognized experts in their fields and acknowledged for their ability to precisely understand client priorities and to deliver service that supports their needs.
Syska's Chicago office, which opened nearly ten years ago, is located in an iconic Mies van der Rohe-designed tower on 330 N. Wabash Ave. The office, certified as LEED CI Platinum space by the U.S. Green Building Council, serves as Syska's center of operations for the entire Midwest region. Significant growth has occurred under site leader Joseph O`Sullivan, as the office supports clients such as Microsoft, Grant Thornton, Gogo Wireless, CDW, and Bank of America. These client relationships have resulted in additional assignments for the office on a national level. Mr. Bendis and Mr. Voorhis will assist the team in regional and national project work within the critical facility, telecommunications and healthcare markets and well as generating new practice areas.

About Michael Bendis
Mr. Bendis is a security professional with over 25 years of experience in the security management and consulting industry. His specialized experience includes security risk analysis, vulnerability studies, and threat assessments as well as security systems design to include video management systems, access control, alarm monitoring, burglar alarm, emergency communications, radio, weapons/explosive screening, dispatch support systems and IT systems. He holds a Master of Business Administration specializing in Computer Information Systems and Corporate Finance from the University of Illinois, Chicago, along with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management/Administration from Bradley University. He is also a Certified Protection Professional (CPP).
About Scott Voorhis
Mr. Voorhis is an audiovisual designer with a background in IT, security and specialization in AV. He has been involved in system design, integration and commissioning of both installed AV solutions, and live event production systems. With 20 years of experience, he focuses on developing, designing and integrating solutions for performance, learning, meeting, collaboration, athletic, and hospitality spaces and venues, building and campus public address and sound masking/privacy systems. He provides insight on how a space is impacted by the AV solution, and especially how the AV solution can impact the space design. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications, Production from Ball State University, along with Digital Media Certified Designer (DMC-D) and Creston Digital Media Certified Designer 4K (DMC-D-4K) certifications.
