The rankings take a big picture approach to calculating affordability, considering each online school's accreditation and marketability in addition to tuition costs.

Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS took the top spot for most affordable online bachelor's and master's degree programs, with Baker College Online ranked as the most affordable school for an online associate's degree. The rankings include large public universities like Colorado State University-Global Campus and Oregon State University Ecampus, as well as private non-profit and for-profit schools, including American InterContinental University, Capella University, Colorado Technical University, Columbia College, DeVry University, Everest University, Herzing University, Ivy Bridge College, Kaplan University, Liberty University Online, Rasmussen College, Saint Leo University, Southern New Hampshire University, Sullivan University, Walden University, and Western Governors University.
