Sun Pirate, Inc. Launches Its Spring Online Training Session

Sun Pirate, Inc. launches its spring session featuring its two online solar training courses: Fundamentals of Solar Hot Water and Photovoltaic System Design & Installation; both courses are ISPQ accredited

COTATI, Calif., March 24, 2009 — Online Solar Training Spring Session is now open for registration for the April 6, 2009 course start date. The two online courses are recognized by Interstate Renewable Energy Council as an ISPQ Accredited Continuing Education Provider and by North American Board of Energy Practitioners for Continuing Education Credits.

The online solar training classes are completely held online over the Internet. Each course has message boards and they are used as the primary communication median for the courses along with email communication.

The training gives a student the foundation of knowledge needed for an entry-level position in the solar industry. These online courses concentrate on the basics of installing code-compliant solar energy systems.

Fundamentals of Solar Hot Water is a 10-lesson online course lasting 11 weeks. The course is ISPQ accredited by IREC and recognized by NABCEP for continuing education credit of 22 hours.

Photovoltaic System Design & Installation is a 15-lesson online course, lasting 16 weeks. The course is ISPQ accredited by IREC and recognized by NABCEP for continuing education credit of 32 hours.

Each lesson is posted weekly and consists of learning objectives, reading assignments, links to visit and message board discussions to participate in. Each lesson is self-paced, requiring about two hours.

Roger Coghlan is the instructor for the courses. Roger is the president of Sun Pirate, Inc., a California Solar Contracting business operating in the North San Francisco Bay Area since 1981. He has a B.A. degree in Environmental Studies and Planning, with a Certificate in Energy Management and Design from Sonoma State University. Roger possesses a California Vocational Education Teaching Credential.
