SS8 Networks to Provide Insight on Lawful Intercept and Criminal Investigations at ISS World

Presentations by Cemal Dikmen, Ph.D., at industry conference on lawful interception will discuss challenges of FMC services, dual mode phones and Wi-Fi in addition to recent Department of Justice rulings on reporting

MILPITAS, Calif., Dec. 11, 2007 — Cemal Dikmen, vice president and general manager of lawful intercept for SS8 Networks, will discuss lawful intercept and criminal investigation technologies at Telestrategies' ISS World in Washington, D.C., a conference and expo focusing on intelligence support systems (ISS) for lawful interception, criminal investigations, intelligence gathering and information sharing, which opened December 10.

At the conference on Monday, December 10 at 1:30 p.m., Dr. Dikmen delivered a presentation on lawful interception challenges in Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) networks. During this presentation, Dr. Dikmen discussed how carriers are meeting CALEA regulations with next-generation IMS networks, FMC services, dual-mode phones, and cellular services using Wi-Fi hotspots. Dr. Dikmen also covered the challenges of meeting CALEA requirements with these services and potential solutions.

On Tuesday, December 11 at 10:00 a.m., Dr. Dikmen will participate in the "Lawful Interception Guru Panel on DOJ's FCC Petition," a panel that will discuss the Department of Justice's request for expedited rule-making for packet activity reporting, time stamping, granular location and secure-reliable IP packet transmission of intercept data.

Dr. Dikmen has been with SS8 Networks since 1995 and began leading the design and development team in charge of the IP-capable CALEA products in 1998. Prior to joining SS8, he held software engineering and business development positions at TelSoft and Telenity. A renowned expert and thought leader in lawful intercept, Dr. Dikmen has been a frequent speaker at various industry conferences during the past 10 years. He holds BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees, all in electrical engineering.

Dr. Dikmen's presentations are part of the three-day conference, which runs from December 10 through December 12, at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Arlington, Va.
