Veteran sales manager brings security and lawful intercept experience to SS8
MILPITAS, Calif., Sept. 10, 2008 — SS8 (SS8 Networks, Inc.) announced today that it has added another regional sales VP to its growing Asia PAC team. Tan Thuan Boon "TB Tan" joins SS8 as Vice President of Sales APAC region. In this position, Tan will focus on the lawful intercept product line and holds responsibility for developing relationships with local partners, striking new relationships with equipment vendors and pursuing direct selling opportunities.
"Two years ago we made a strategic decision to invest and expand our Asian operation. That investment is now paying off and we continue to expand our team to accommodate the growth we are seeing," said Dennis Haar, president and CEO for SS8. Prior to joining SS8, Tan was Regional Manager of Sales for Utimaco Safeware, where he developed sales channels in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines. His efforts were rewarded with both data security projects at numerous mainstream companies in the region and with significant lawful intercept projects. "TB has been working in the region since 1987 and brings with him great local knowledge and relationships that are critical to securing lawful intercept opportunities," added Jim Della Chiesa, VP of Global Sales at SS8. "His technical background, business acumen and management skills will combine to extend SS8's leadership in Asia."
Previous to Utimaco, Tan was hired by DMX Technologies to develop a business office in Asia. Along with his team, Tam successfully built the office into a key security system integration operation, growing the business tenfold in 5 years. Tan started his career as a system engineer at Sumida Electric, working on WAN infrastructure projects, moved on to Chevalier as a Sales Manager covering the South China region before starting his own system integrator business and eventually moving on to Utimaco. Tan received both a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information System at Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration in Total Quality Management at Newport University.
Tam also holds a number of certifications that include: Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified StoneGate Architect (CSGA), Certified Engineer (CSGE), Microsoft Certified System Engineer and SUN Authorized Trainer.
