Society of Insurance Research to Demystify Big Data at Annual Conference October 14 – 17

INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — The Society of Insurance Research (SIR) is pleased to announce final details regarding its 42nd Annual Conference & Exhibit Fair, which will take place October 14 – 17, 2012 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

"This year, the Society of Insurance Research Annual Conference theme is on Demystifying Big Data.  To ensure our attendees get the full big data picture, we included a claims track along with our three track staples: Property-Casualty Personal Lines, Property-Casualty Commercial Lines, and Health Insurance," said Sharon Markovsky, Annual Conference Chair. "SIR members and other product, research, and competitive intelligence attendees from the insurance industry will have more than 40 highly focused sessions from which to choose. All of these sessions have been lined up by our conference committee, which has been working throughout the year to bring high-level industry presenters and actionable content to our attendees."

"Each specialty track at the Society of Insurance Research Annual Conference & Exhibit Fair provides a robust agenda that will provide actionable insights to the way insurance companies will do business in the future," said Gary Hodge, President of the Society of Insurance Research.  "We are particularly pleased at this year's addition of a separate Claims track, as claims data has become such a key focus for insurer performance management research."
