SC Magazine Selects Mobile Active Defense for 'Top-10 Throwdown'

ATLANTA, Oct. 26, 2010 — SC Magazine's SC World Congress, Data Security Conference & Expo in NYC, November 10-11, 2010, hosts the "Security Innovators Throwdown"  (http://www.scmagazineus.com/security-innovators-throwdown/section/1590/).

Mobile Application Development (M.A.D.) Partners, LLC is one of only 10 companies selected as part of the "most innovative security companies of 2010" vying to be considered one of the top 5 which will be announced following the event (http://www.scmagazineus.com/security-innovators-throwdown/section/1590/).

This Throwdown honors the brightest information security companies that have recently launched newly developed technologies, reviewed before an independent non-biased judging panel of experts.

Winn Schwartau, Chairman of M.A.D. Partners, responded to the exciting news that Mobile Active Defense was nominated in the Throwdown as recognition of the company's flagship technology. "We truly believe that providing real security and compliance for mobile enterprise clearly positions us as a global leader in the mobile security space. Not everyone in our space can honestly say they provide security or compliance to the required level; they're not because it's very difficult to do right."

M.A.D. is the first to market with an industry demanded, comprehensive suite of management and security solutions for the iPhone, iPad, Android and other smartphones and tablets with its Mobile Enterprise Compliance and Security (MECS) Server. Development began in early 2008, utilizing unique design expertise, positioning the company for successful rapid growth. MECS has been successfully tested within organizations in the healthcare, financial, retail and government sectors.

MECS' unique ability is to put enterprise mobile devices into secure compliance (HIPAA, PCI, ISO27001, etc.) easily, quickly and affordably with its comprehensive Security and Compliance suite, policy driven and managed console, personal mobile firewall protection, encrypted traffic and certificate based AES 256 bit VPN and much more, just as BES does for BlackBerry.

Rob Smith, CTO of M.A.D. Partners, LLC, will be representing the company at the Throwdown. He recently said in response to the honor of being selected, "I believe what sets M.A.D. apart from the rest of the field is the fact that we deliver a solution to all organizations that wish to deploy and monitor their mobile devices including the iPad that protects the entire beachhead, not just a small sandbox. Offering the perception of control is just not good enough.  Management tools that are only extensions of Microsoft's Active Synch or Apple's iPhone configuration utility may be very useful tools but hardly enough when it comes to security and compliance."

M.A.D. was recently also honored and selected to be one of Georgia Tech's Information Security Center's (GTISC) industry alliance partners on mobile security research and serves on the GTISC's Industry Advisory Board (http://www.gtisc.gatech.edu/).

The SC World Congress Program will also feature a track titled "Got iPhone?" with panelists including Illena Armstrong (Editor-in-Chief, SC Magazine), Patricia Titus (VP and global CISO of Unisys), Dr. Mustaque Ahamad (Director of GTISC) and Rob Smith (CTO of M.A.D.).
