Thirty-Five SLH Vintners Slated to Pour in San Francisco on February 23 and Carmel on March 21
MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif., Dec. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — The Santa Lucia Highlands Wine Artisans, an alliance of the appellation's winegrowers and the wineries that rely on the district's world-class vinifera, have announced their media and trade tasting schedule for early 2016. Members of the press, restaurateurs, and wine retailers will have the opportunity to sample the newest releases from more than thirty Santa Lucia Highlands–appellated brands on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Fort Mason's Gallery 308 in San Francisco. The event runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Monday, March 21, the SLH group will be staging a trade and press tasting for local accounts at Quail Lodge in Carmel.

Invited press and trade attendees will explore limited releases, many poured by the winegrowers themselves. Wineries scheduled to participate include August West, Belle Glos, Bernardus, Black Kite, Hahn Family Wines, Hope & Grace, J. Lohr Highlands Bench, J. McFarland Wines, Joyce, La Rochelle, Loring Wine Co., Luli, Mansfield-Dunne, Manzoni, McIntyre, Mer Soleil, Miner, Miura, Mooney, Morgan, Novy, Pessagno, Pisoni / Lucia, Prim Family, Puma Road, Roar, Sarah's Vineyard, Scheid, Siduri, Smith Family Wines, Tantara, Testarossa, Tondre, Tudor, and Wrath.

The Santa Lucia Highlands is one of the crown jewels of California viticulture, growing and producing some of the state's best cool climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah. The appellation encompasses more than 6,000 acres of prime vineyards, planted on the elevated terraces of the Santa Lucia mountain range. The area's unique character was recognized with official A.V.A. status in 1991; 2016 marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the S.L.H.'s designation.
Formed in 2005, the Santa Lucia Highlands Wine Artisans is an association of vineyards and wineries that grow grapes here or use this region's fruit to craft their wines. The group's primary goal is to promote this unique viticultural district and increase awareness and appreciation of the Santa Lucia Highlands.
