RFID Journal LIVE! 2015 Keynote Addresses to Explore the Use of RFID Data and Data Analytics by the NFL Network, Interstate Batteries, Airbus and Others

RFID Journal's 13th annual event, being held on Apr. 15-17, in San Diego, will feature an unprecedented lineup of keynotes and general sessions.

NEW YORK, March 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — RFID Journal announced today that speakers from the NFL Network, Macy's, Levi Strauss & Co, Airbus, U.S. Transportation Command (TRANSCOM), Interstate Batteries and the John Lewis department store chain will be featured in general sessions at RFID Journal LIVE! 2015 (www.rfidjournalevents.com/live), being held on Apr. 15-17, at California's San Diego Convention Center. A key theme among all of these sessions will be the use of new levels of data captured by radio frequency identification systems.

Hall of Famer and NFL Network Analyst, Marshall Faulk, and representatives from Zebra Technologies will explain how the National Football League is using "Next Generation Statistics" enabled by Zebra's Sports Solution player-tracking system, which identifies every player's location during a game to within inches.

Automatic identification technology (AIT), including RFID, is a key enabler in gathering timely and accurate in-transit and asset-visibility data for TRANSCOM, which handles logistics for the U.S. military. Rear Admiral David Baucom will explain how AIT data fits into TRANSCOM's layered approach to logistics, and how robust data systems are essential to giving warfighters the complete picture of shipments in transit.

Bruce Hellen of Interstate Batteries, a U.S. automotive battery supplier, will explain how his company partnered with an RFID solution provider to develop a remote, autonomous RFID monitoring system. This patented technology provides Interstate with near-real-time inventory visibility at a dealer (store) level. Data culled from this unique system provides the company with unprecedented visibility into product movement in the market, thus enabling more efficient and cost-effective replenishment procedures.

Carlo Nizam of Airbus, a frequent speaker at LIVE!, will explain how his firm has moved beyond internal applications and has begun working with supply chain partners, airline customers, and maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) service providers to create visibility of airplane parts across the value chain. Nizam will explain how the benefits of RFID multiply as partners share information and use the technology's capabilities to track, trace and optimize how parts are made, put on a plane, maintained and finally replaced.

Dr. Bill Hardgrave, the dean of Auburn University's Harbert College of Business, will host a panel focused on RFID's adoption to track apparel, jewelry and other consumer items in stores and across the retail supply chain. Pam Sweeney of Macy's, Rupert Thorpe of John Lewis and Stacey Shulman of Levi Strauss will share their learnings and insights about RFID's benefits, while Melanie Nuce from GS1 US will explain how standards are being developed to smooth the path to adoption for retailers and suppliers alike.

"This really is one of the best lineups of general-session speakers and keynote addresses that we've ever had at our LIVE! conference," said Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. "Attendees will gain insights into how data is being collected and leveraged in ways that would have seemed impossible just a few years ago, and they will see how this data is turned into real business value."

LIVE! 2015 will also feature four industry-specific and four level-of-expertise conference tracks, as well as seven in-depth preconference seminars and workshops, four post-conference seminars, the RFID Journal Awards, the Coolest Demo Contest, the RFID Startup Challenge, fast-track training provided by RFID4U, RFID Professional Institute certification and two co-located events (the Internet of Things Conference and IEEE RFID 2015). In addition, the conference will offer exhibits and demonstrations conducted by the industry's leading technology firms. For more information, visit www.rfidjournalevents.com/live.
