BALLSTON SPA, N.Y., Sept. 1, 2009 — Whole house entertainment system trailblazer ReQuest, Inc. is adding a new dimension to their F.Series music and movie servers — access to thousands of Internet streaming radio stations.
Control of this new feature will be intuitive to both new and existing users. Stations can be searched by name, genre or bit rate on the system's web server and favorite stations can be added to a station list for quick and easy access from any control panel in the house. Once added, stations can be renamed and given custom cover art using the same tools already available for hard drive library music. Thousands of 128k or better stations are available for the kind of high-quality music experience that ReQuest users have come to expect and enjoy.
"You can find amazing content from across the globe as well as local stations in your hometown," explains Andy Lopez, Director of ReQuest Sales. "Finding stations in your favorite genre is easy, and for thousands of stations we show the song name and artist information right on the touch panels."
Functionally, each of the independent audio outputs can seamlessly switch back and forth between hard drive music libraries and streaming radio, allowing listeners in one part of the home to choose either source without interrupting listeners elsewhere in the home and all without needing to dedicate a zone to streaming radio. F.Series servers are available with either two or four zone audio outputs.
This new feature has been engineered with third-party control systems in mind. Pre-built modules will be available for download, allowing installers to easily integrate this new feature with Crestron, AMX, and other systems. System owners will also be able to control station selection from the free ReQuest iPhone / iPod Touch application.
This new feature is expected to be launched in October 2009 and will be a free software upgrade for all V5 F.Series and all iQ systems with streaming outputs. Older F and N.Series systems can be upgraded for $150 MSRP.
