Psychiatrist Celebrates Life and Achieves His American Dream by Keeping His Mind and Heart Connected

Author's newly published autobiography explores the true meaning of life, spirituality, and what can bring inner peace and happiness

DELRAY BEACH, Fla., March 4, 2011 — Most immigrants fantasize about finding the American Dream, often associating fame with material wealth. Many give up in their quest because it takes hard work and discipline. But obstacles and failures should be learning experiences, not total barriers. This is what psychiatrist and author Pierre Andre, MD, realizes and shares as he releases his inspiring story in his new memoir, My Emotional and Spiritual Journey.

It is a compelling and inspiring account of a wide range of issues about life. Starting with his obliviously happy childhood in Haiti until his father's arrest when he was sixteen, continuing with his flight to New York to avoid a similar fate, and finishing with the vindication of his parent's sacrifice of familial ties for the sake of survival both physical and emotional, this story underscores the promise of America in a world fraught with insecurity.

My Emotional and Spiritual Journey is a cascade of events transforming his existence from carefree childhood in Haiti to responsible adulthood in the U.S. as a psychiatrist listening daily to people's emotional pain, offering guidance and advice. He also presents four people who embody the true meaning of life, including internal success (spiritual values): Viktor Frankl, Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, and Martin Luther King Jr., to offer readers a vivid picture of what living should be and what life is all about.

This book is available for purchase at online bookstores: iUniverse.com, Amazon.com, and BarnesandNoble.com.
