NEW YORK, NY – July 23, 2001 — PortfolioScience announces the release of its RiskAPI(TM) Microsoft Excel Add-In subscription service. Through this new product, users of Microsoft Excel will be able to remotely access the PortfolioScience analysis engine in order to perform portfolio risk analysis and management.
The RiskAPI(TM) Add-In transforms each spreadsheet into a sophisticated network client with the ability to access remotely managed financial data and calculation resources. The RiskAPI(TM) technology was developed to integrate into a large variety of operating environments, with the goal of proving several types of financial services the ability to harness sophisticated risk analysis technologies. The addition of native Microsoft Excel support extends the reach of the RiskAPI(TM) to the desktop financial service market.
PortfolioScience offers two versions of the product, personal and institutional, both including a suite of risk analysis and portfolio management tools. The institutional version enables portfolio managers and traders to make unlimited on-sheet function calls to the remote PortfolioScience tool set. The personal version, aimed at individual investors, provides access to the feature list in a more limited fashion.
