HOUSTON, Sept. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Peli Peli, a South African restaurant concept with two locations in Houston, Texas, will host a fundraising dinner on Monday, September 14, 2015 to benefit the family of fallen Deputy Darren Goforth. 20% of the dinner proceeds in support of Deputy Goforth will go to the Goforth family.

Deputy Goforth was ambushed and killed in the line of duty on August 28, 2015 at a gas station in Northwest Houston. Goforth was a 10-year veteran of the Harris County Sheriff's Office and is survived by his wife and two children, ages 5 and 12. Shannon J. Miles, 30, is charged with capital murder in the killing of Goforth.

The Houston community has shown strong support with over $300,000 raised for the Goforth family on a GoFundMe page in addition to local support from community activist Quanell X and a viral YouTube tribute from Kenny Nguyen.
Both Peli Peli locations will be participating in the fundraising dinner for the Goforth family and are located at 110 Vintage Park Blvd (Vintage Park) and 5085 Westheimer (Houston Galleria Mall).
