PCI Education Names Erin Kinard VP, Product Development/Publisher

Industry Veteran Selected to Head Product Development Efforts for Special Education Publisher

SAN ANTONIO, Dec. 15, 2009 — PCI Education, the number one provider of resources for students with special needs, announces the appointment of Erin Kinard as Vice President, Product Development/Publisher. In this newly created role, Kinard will oversee product development for the company and report to Lee Wilson, President and CEO.

"Erin has worked on a wide variety of products with some of the industry's largest publishers, and has developed a broad perspective in the area of reading, which is PCI's core strength," said Wilson. "Her strong publishing background, coupled with our deep expertise in designing, developing and distributing resources designed for students with special needs, is a powerful combination."

Kinard brings to PCI Education a deep understanding of the publishing process, along with a vision for products based on classroom experience and development experience. Earlier, Kinard served as Editorial Director, Reading and ESL for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Supplemental Publishers based in Austin. At Harcourt Achieve, Kinard held a variety of positions including Editorial Director of Steck-Vaughn, and Editorial Director of Reading for Harcourt Achieve. In addition, Kinard held editorial positions at Brown Publishing Network and Scholastic, Inc.

A member of the International Reading Association, Kinard began her career as a classroom teacher in Austin and New York City. She earned a master's of education degree in curriculum and instruction for The University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor's degree in studio art from Williams College.
