Parenting Special Needs Magazine Celebrates Its THIRD ANNIVERSARY of Supporting the Special Needs Community

VERO BEACH, Fla., Sept. 20, 2011 — Parenting Special Needs Magazine (PSN) announced its THIRD ANNIVERSARY of providing a full suite of free services available at http://www.parentingspecialneeds.org.

In commemoration of its third year, PSN has started a Different-Ability Awareness Initiative. PSN is partnering with Children's Authors Angela Ruzicka (Wendy on Wheels book series), Wendy Cartozzo, (Beaux the Blue Crawfish), and Kevin Bloomfield (Mr. Biggs in the City) as well as numerous groups and organizations around the world to help spread the word about acceptance. Its initiative is to educate its communities about acceptance of people with Different Disabilities & Abilities. "Knowledge is power, but to create change requires understanding. Everybody needs a friend and acceptance begins with a smile," said Chantai Snellgrove, founder of Parenting Special Needs Magazine. They are encouraging everyone to participate by: becoming a friend, displaying a FREE Acceptance poster, sharing a personal story or passing on information about a disability, reading a book to your child, or a group of children, that emphasizes difference and fosters acceptance. A FREE poster is available that can be put up in a schoolroom, workplace, grocery store or any public facility or place that can help people become more aware.

One in every five Americans is a person with a disability. A person may be born with a disability or acquire a disability through illness or accident. Despite the fact that disability is a natural part of life, people with disabilities do not always have access to equal opportunities. Please support the initiative and help end discrimination.

Remember — Acceptance begins with a Smile : )
