Oregon Company Offers Anti-Drone Technology, Receives Threats and Confrontational Correspondence

Drone community reacts hatefully towards Drone Detection System with death threats and profanity.

PORTLAND, Ore., June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Drones are a polarizing issue.  Some citizens are thankful that credible Drone Detection Systems are becoming available.  Joe from Ohio wrote to Domestic Drone Countermeasures (DDC) saying, "I think you have an idea whose time has come. I am a technologist and I am very worried about the state of our American liberty."

Other citizens send messages to DDC screaming profanity and "Can you please die?!"  DDC has received death threats; witnessed comments systematically killed in articles, blogs and discussion boards; had original website and domain hijacked by a gaming site and seen confrontational tweets, emails and messages which do not bode well for the average citizen who is trying to protect his or her privacy from drones.  The reaction by drone makers and owners shows one thing: that they plan to invade your privacy and they don't want anyone to prevent them from doing it.

DDC is perplexed by the visceral reaction to the mere existence of Personal Drone Detection Systems.  What is fueling the intense hatred?  Having a system like this on the market accelerates the drone industry by allowing citizens to opt out of a drone's covert surveillance activities.  But interestingly, that has not been the predominant reaction.  DDC wonders how much of this reaction is being driven by drone industry money.

You can make up your own mind by going to Kickstarter and taking a look at the system at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/532391021/personal-drone-detection-system (http://kck.st/1oicLVy).
