NEW YORK, July 17,2012 — Pop singer, songwriter, pianist Whitney Wolanin (WHOA-Lan-in) has had a very busy 2012 so far. Her single "Honesty," which she wrote and recorded, has spent over 28 weeks on the national airplay charts (Billboard & Mediabase) reaching an astounding #21 chart position, an impressive feat for this 22-year-old independent recording artist. To support all the interest from these stations across the country, Whitney has been on the road a lot in 2012 doing live performances at radio stations from coast to coast in support of "Honesty."
On the weekend of July 21 Whitney Wolanin will take over as the DJ and Voice of "The Blend" on SiriusXM Satellite Radio. (Check station listing for broadcast times.) Whitney will be spinning songs from artists she met along the way that influenced her professional career path.
Whitney is then off to London for several performances in conjunction with the Summer Olympics in support of the current and past Olympic athletes. Following that she will head to Edinburgh Scotland for 26 shows at "The Fringe Festival" Aug 1 – 27 with Michael Winslow at the E4 Underbelly Upside Down Cow venue each night at 9:40pm … with only one day off on August 14. During her UK Tour Whitney will also be the "Singer-Songwriter Artist in the Streets" Celebrity Featured Correspondent on both audio/video news for US broadcast. Some stations that will carry her broadcasts are WYJB Albany NY, WJBR Wilmington Del., and WSPA Greenville SC, with others to be announced.
A new Whitney Wolanin mini-album Let's Be Honest Part 1 will be released Tues., August 14 in the US and internationally on iTunes. It features 5 new original songs plus an exclusive bonus version of her hit "Honesty."
