Offline "Renaissance" Examined in First of Three Quadriga White Papers

NEW YORK, Nov. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Businesses and nonprofits continue to increase their sales and donations responses with an age-old marketing tool: direct mail. Others are expanding reach and motivation to target audiences through television and radio ads, billboard and even telemarketing.

Offline marketing not only endures, but some segments are trailblazing as marketers increasingly realize their potential and value, according to Quadriga Art, LLC, a global leader in direct marketing and creative services. In the first in a series of three white papers, Quadriga examines the state of offline marketing in today's hyper digital era. The second paper will delve into the opportunities and intricacies of online direct marketing, and the third will solve the key question: "How do we succeed at both?"

Direct mail endures and continues to trail blaze, as evidenced by the scores of asks that fall out of mailboxes every day and reports that 65% of consumers of all ages have made a purchase as a result of direct mail. Other offline marketing channels also maintain their position in the marketing arena, including billboards, print ads and TV commercials. Marketers spent $129.9 billion last year on traditional advertising, signifying its critical role expanding reach and motivation to highly targeted segments of the consumer/donor audience.

The white paper examines creative ways businesses and charities are using paper appeals to boost response rates by driving online traffic and action, and offers statistics to help marketers identify the right direct mail strategies.

"In today's increasingly competitive, digital and global environment, direct mail remains one of the most potent ways to drive revenue," said Quadriga CEO Mark Schulhof. "Direct mail is a staple for skilled users, and increasingly becoming one for marketers who have previously avoided it in favor of all-digital campaigns."
