The Nursing Home Complaint Center says, "We are trying to prevent a person at a nursing home from getting sepsis, or septic shock because the nursing home staff failed to keep their patient clean, or they failed to treat things like a bed sore. If left untreated a bed sore can easily turn into infections called sepsis, and or septic shock, and sepsis/septic shock can be fatal."
"We are urging all families who have a loved one in a nursing home anywhere in the United States to keep a journal that describes the condition of their loved one the last time they visited them. The journal should include time, date, how their loved one appeared. The journal entry should also include did the nursing home patient/family member appear to be properly cared for?
