To honor and commemorate the Nation's Veterans, each race is set to begin 11 minutes after the hour and an 11K run is offered in the place of the standard 10K distance. While last year was the first year for the half marathon run in San Jose, it was found to be an instant hit and will be making a return for a second year. Participants in last year's events helped to raise more than $25,000 towards veteran programs.

This year's race is in partnership with Operation Gratitude (www.operationgratitude.com), a non-profit organization that sends more than 150,000 care packages annually to the men and women deployed overseas. Operation Gratitude will be present at each race location to allow runners and supporters the chance to learn more about the organization's participation within the military community.

"After the success and enthusiasm of last year's run, we are thrilled to be returning for our fourth year," said Jeff Calene, President, National Veterans Day Run. "Operation Gratitude has been an amazing charity partner. The Operation Gratitude team will be facilitating the delivery of care packages directly to veterans and active duty military at each race location this year, adding to our race-day activities."

Runs for 2014 will be located in: Las Vegas, Oceanside, Irvine, San Jose, Reno, Boise, Clarkston, Spokane, Seattle, Portland, Fort Worth, Dallas, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, and Colorado Springs.
