Virginia Army Guard rapid response teams enhanced by deployment of latest TAC-PAK II Ultra-Agile Mobile Command Technology; supplants costly command vehicle response

The Virginia National Guard, headquartered in Stanton, VA, provides premier support for Commonwealth of Virginia Domestic Operations and Federally directed Local/Global missions. For over 8 years the Virginia Guard has deployed the cost-effective TAC-PAK Ultra-Agile Mobile Command Systems, developed by 308 SYSTEMS of Fort Collins, CO (http://www.308systems.com), to meet their initial entry communication needs. Recently, the Virginia Guard demonstrated their forward-thinking nature, and accepted delivery of the latest TAC-PAK configuration, deemed "TAC-PAK II." TAC-PAK II deployment was planned to ensure effective and efficient communications between the Virginia Guard and local, state, private sector, non-governmental organizations and related Federal partners.
Pushing the performance envelope even farther, the TAC-PAK II replicates a traditional command van in functionality, yet is packaged into a self-contained case only 22" x 14" x 9". This gives new meaning to the term "Ultra-Agile," and enables the VAANG to use the TAC-PAK II in situations typically requiring a costly command vehicle.

The Virginia Guard has customized each of their TAC-PAK II systems to support the robust nature of their mission. Local hurricane, ice storm, and flooding disasters provide operational challenges to VAANG troops, who are now able to immediately deploy the TAC-PAK II by quickly throwing it into the back of a Humvee or snowmobile. When deployed through streets blocked with water, hurricane debris or ice, and without any existing power or data infrastructure, VAANG troops can flip a switch and immediately establish high-speed cellular (up to 21Mbps bandwidth) and satellite voice/data connections. These Internet reachback connections can be shared by up to 25 local troops via built-in WiFi and support multiple operations including videoconferencing, local and worldwide radio interoperability, and much more. Guard troops are also now in the power utility business, and can provide both AC and DC onboard power to charge other Team member electronic devices.
