MALVERN, Pa., Aug. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — The National Behavioral Intervention Team Association (NaBITA, www.nabita.org) announces its new case management initiative, and invites school and college case managers to explore the resources available from NaBITA.
Case management is essential to pre-intervention, intervention-based and post-intervention management of students of concern. NaBITA offers an established national association and conference structure for the professional development of case management and behavioral intervention skills and techniques.
NaBITA has recognized that campus case management and behavioral intervention are tandem tasks that support each other and are complementary to the success of each. Yet, the fields are developing independently, to the detriment of each. To more effectively integrate BIT and case management efforts, NaBITA has expanded its intentional outreach to case managers.
To that end, case managers will find an affordable new case manager member category, resources and materials for case manager members, a case management track at the annual NaBITA conference, and a case management-focused pre-conference session by and for case managers. A case management board seat has been created on the NaBITA advisory board and a new whitepaper on case management from NaBITA is forthcoming.
NaBITA Executive Director Brett A. Sokolow, Esq., said at the launch of initiative, "Many BITs rely on case managers, and not just BIT and student affairs case managers, but counseling and employee case managers as well. As a consultant and legal counsel, I regularly recommend to my clients that they create one or more case management positions.
