SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., July 15, 2009 — Money Now! USA, a Scottsdale, AZ loan finding service, is now announcing a change in sub-prime credit card marketing. In order to create more value for customers seeking a personal loan, Money Now! USA gave consumers the option to add a credit card designed to help re-build and improve their credit. On the bottom of the personal loan application consumers were asked if they wanted to add the Money Now USA shopping card.
From March 16 to July 1st 2009 about 1% of consumers clicked on the bottom to include this card, in which an enrollment fee of $29.95 was charged to their bank account. Even though the form clearly stated that their bank account would be charged this fee for the card, Money Now! USA's customer service team reported many confused customers. Money Now! We could not have foreseen the confusion this offer would create because our payment processor was checking ACH accounts to ensure the funds were available. In our production, such a low number of consumers selected this opt-in offer that we had no idea the problems this would create.
