AboutOne, the online organizer for busy families, will host "One Million for $1 Million," a charity Twitter party to raise awareness and funds for Operation Shower, HERA Women's Cancer Foundation, and OPPORTUNITIES

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 8, 2011 — At 8pm ET on Tuesday, November 15, AboutOne (http://www.aboutone.com), the online organizer that makes it fast, fun, and easy to preserve family memories and manage household information, will sponsor the One Million for $1 Million ) Twitter party in support of Operation Shower, HERA Women's Cancer Foundation, and OPPORTUNITIES. AboutOne, scheduled to launch its newest release in January (http://www.acornpoints.com/), includes a charitable component in its corporate mission, with special emphasis on non-profits that support women, children and heroes. According to Joanne Lang, AboutOne's CEO, "The founding principles of Operation Shower, HERA, and OPPORTUNITIES fit well with AboutOne's philanthropic objectives, which is why we are honored and proud to support these organizations."

AboutOne hosted its first charity Twitter party in 2010. That event's success prompted several well-known brands to partner with AboutOne this year, including Microsoft, Fisher-Price, Cozi, Suze Orman's Identity Protector, Build-A-Bear, and BabyCenter. Armed with over $5600 in prizes, AboutOne hopes to entice large numbers of Twitterers to donate money to the three charities and attend the #AOthanks Twitter party. "Joining our Twitter party and supporting these charities with a small donation is a wonderful way to express your gratitude and thanks at this special time of year — and have a little fun," says Lang.

Operation Shower (http://www.operationshower.org) is a non-profit organization that honors the sacrifices American military families make by producing and coordinating unit-wide baby showers for expecting military families in a deployment or high-stress situation. "We are grateful for the opportunity to support military families by hosting unique baby showers and providing a shared experience as well as products and services to show our appreciation and thanks for everything these families give to our country," says Chief Shower Officer, LeAnn Morrissey.

The HERA Women's Cancer Foundation (http://www.herafoundation.org) provides funding for cutting-edge research grants to expand the understanding of ovarian cancer while improving the lives of those battling this disease. HERA also embraces educational activities which raise awareness of symptoms and treatment options. "HERA's mission is to stop the loss of women from ovarian cancer by promoting Health, Empowerment, Research, and Awareness. All donations support HERA's scientific research and community awareness grant programs, and we are very grateful to AboutOne for their support of our cause," says Meg Steitz, HERA Executive Director.

OPPORTUNITIES (http://www.opportunitiespa.org) provides mentoring, life coaching, educational assistance, career counseling, and housing support to homeless and at-risk youth. The non-profit works with shelters to identify and screen candidates for supportive housing by assessing their motivation, potential for scholastic achievement, and professional goals. Selected candidates are moved into an OPPORTUNITIES home and enrolled in the Self Sufficiency Program before transitioning to independent housing. "I'm grateful for this opportunity to develop awareness around OPPORTUNITIES' efforts to equip homeless and at-risk youth with the skills necessary to become self-sufficient adults," states CEO and Founder Justina Shaw.

Along with its partners and featured charities, AboutOne hopes to make a difference in the lives of others this holiday season. The One Million for $1 Million site ) provides information on the party agenda and prizes.
