Mom Finds the Answer to Her Child's Struggles in School – and Wants to Help Others Do the Same

Marjorie Kaye's new Club Z! In-Home Tutoring Services branch will help local students build the skills and confidence needed for academic success

BOSTON, March 10, 2011 — "When my son was a 10th grader, my greatest fear was that he would not pass the MCAS exam, and he would not graduate high school," says Marjorie Kaye, the Area Director for the new Club Z! In-Home Tutoring Services in the Wakefield-Melrose area.

She knew her son needed help, but finding a program that would work for her family was tricky. As in many families where both parents work, there was little time to take her child to a learning center or a tutor's home. And while a private in-home tutor seemed like the best solution, Ms. Kaye thought she couldn't possibly afford the double sessions of instruction in Math and English. She was wrong.

"Fortunately, I found Club Z! In-Home Tutoring. The tutors were terrific, and I could not believe how reasonable the rates were. I was able to make dinner while my son was getting the help he needed in the other room."

The results were outstanding. Ms. Kaye decided to open a branch of Club Z! in the Melrose-Wakefield area. "Club-Z has been in Massachusetts for 15 years … but not in this part of the state. I believe the residents here will really be able to benefit from the services we have to offer." Her new branch will also serve Reading, North Reading, and Lynnfield, MA.

Unique in its focus on one-on-one tutoring sessions conducted in the convenience of the child's own home, Club Z! has an excellent 15-year reputation, high success rates, and hundreds of thousands of happy clients nationwide. Tutoring in the secure and familiar home environment allows distractions to be minimized and children to focus more easily, while they receive the individual academic attention that is all but impossible in today's crowded classrooms. Meanwhile, parents enjoy the flexible scheduling and frequent progress reports, as well as the fact that tutoring is based around a child's own existing curriculum whenever possible, to build ability and confidence rather than place undue stress on an already-struggling student. Club Z! has tutors in all subjects and levels from Kindergarten to Adult, including MCAS, SAT, and ACT preparation.

Ms. Kaye adds that Club Z! also offers a focus on the types of organizational and study skills that kids need to develop in order to keep learning and thriving in school – even after any immediate grade-level crisis has been averted. "One of the things I noticed with both of my sons is that they were smart kids who struggled with how to study for tests and how to keep their work organized – especially as the course work got more difficult," she notes. "Club Z! has a terrific study skills program that I think many children would find beneficial throughout their academic lives. It's really the building block for enjoying learning and getting better grades. Too often it's an area that is overlooked."

A 37-year Boston area resident, Ms. Kaye is looking forward to helping local children succeed through the tutoring methods she has already seen in action. "I hope through Club Z! In-Home Tutoring, we can provide the help so many children need at a price parents can afford," she concludes.
