Mobile Active Defense Welcomes Phil Agcaoili of Cox Communications to the Board of Advisors

ATLANTA, April 29, 2011 — Mobile Active Defense (M.A.D.) Partners, LLC today announced that Phil Agcaoili, CISO of Cox Communications, has joined the Board of Advisors to M.A.D. Partners, LLC, The Smartphone Security Company.

MAD provides the award-winning Mobile Enterprise Compliance Security (MECS) Solution globally to Enterprises and Government Agencies to secure smartphones and tablet devices to the utmost and stringent security and compliance standards available in the industry today.

Rob Smith, CTO of Mobile Active Defense commented: "Having Phil sit on our Board of Advisors is an honor and invaluable addition to our growing company, validating that we have developed technology to truly secure mobile devices." Rob went on to say that "Phil has helped shape the direction of Cloud Computing as a founding member of the Cloud Security Alliance and as a co-founder and co-author of the CSA Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM) and GRC Stack. He represented GE, VeriSign, Alcatel, Scientific-Atlanta, and Cox in their respective Corporate Security Councils and the Dell Global Privacy Steering Committee and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Council and will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Board of Mobile Active Defense."

In an interview about his most recent appointment, Mr. Agcaoili commented, "The way we protect the mobile end point has to change in light of today's adoption of the various smartphone and table devices that are infiltrating enterprises, whether IT likes it or not." When asked why he joined Mobile Active Defense, he responded: "From my research, MAD offers the only solution for mobile devices that overcomes both the inherent weaknesses of MDM on Apple iOS and the Android platform and traditional sandbox security solutions on the device that do not scale for mobile platforms. M.A.D. leapfrogs the outdated sandbox security approach, enabling employees to use their devices with native capabilities, and not changing the user experience. M.A.D.'s approach transparently ensured holistic security through the Cloud and within the enterprise."

The Mobile Enterprise Compliance and Security (MECS) server implements stringent controls that can not be defeated by the employee, and is locked down to the degree required by organizations, especially those that are under compliance regulatory mandates. MECS extends existing enterprise and network security policies across mobile platforms with complete encryption, Geo-Location and granular firewall controls, a suite of anti-virus, malware, content filtering, device management tools and recently added Application Access Control (AAC). Extending beyond the white/blacklisting of applications to actually monitor how applications behave and remediate if they should behave badly.
