The Menorah Islands' construction and design would aim to include several significant technologies that would contribute to clean and renewable natural resources. A major cornerstone of the Menorah Islands Project is to incorporate several advanced environmentally-friendly practices in order to protect the environment around it and improve quality of life.
One of the most promising and crucial of these technologies are atmospheric water generators, which draw moisture from the air and turn it into potable water. This technology has already been implemented successfully in several arid places throughout the world, and machines have the capability to produce hundreds and even thousands of gallons per day.
The island's design also incorporates wind walls in its design. Wind walls harvest the power of the wind as a renewable energy source by absorbing the energy it creates when wind blows against the structures.
The artificial islands complex is also interested in using air-cleaning technology, built into the island environment. These technologies artificially mimic trees' natural ability to clean air. Operated on renewable energy itself, air cleaners could become a part of a future Menorah Islands complex.
Many of these concepts are based on solar energy. This makes the Menorah Islands' unique construction key to pursuing such technologies because the islands are designed to be in full sun, with minimal shade throughout. The entire complex is built for maximum sun exposure, ensuring that a large amount of solar energy is harvested and stored to power all of this new technology.
Some of these initiatives are in concept phase. However, the Menorah Islands Project, as a center for scientific research, wants to be the place for researchers and developers to begin creating working prototypes and putting them to work in this artificial island complex. For example, solar-run sanitation methods, which convert sewage water into potable water, can be piloted here and eventually become an integral part of the islands if successful.
If built, the Menorah Islands Project will become a laboratory for cutting edge environmental science and act as a prototype for the future sustainable cities that will begin to heal the world.
