The petroleum sector contributed $30.4 billion to the North Dakota economy in 2011 according to research conducted at North Dakota State University. The energy industry utilizes a vast array of tools and equipment and large quantities of commodities. Traditionally, these products are manufactured, remanufactured and sourced long distances away from the Bakken region.

Time savings and cost reductions can be achieved through regional manufacturing, remanufacturing and recertification as well as changes in the supply chain and logistics channels. "ManLog brings together manufacturers, machinists, suppliers, commodity sources, logistics companies and other stakeholders with the energy industry to explore opportunities in North Dakota and the Bakken," said Jeff Zarling, president of DAWA Solutions Group.

The scale of economic activity, the needs of the oil and gas industry, the capabilities of regional manufacturers and the services of transportation and logistics companies have combined to create unprecedented business development opportunities in the upper Midwest.

"Given the magnitude and expected duration of energy development and economic activity in the Bakken shale play, now is the time to explore manufacturing, remanufacturing and logistics opportunities in the region to diversify and grow our economy further," commented Zarling.

The conference will offer presentations, networking and trade show exhibits. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the market needs and challenges as well as how to do business in the region and with the energy industry.

Information and Education
Understanding the industry, how it operates, and who to connect with are critical in developing relationships with and providing solutions for the oil and gas industry. ManLog will provide a crucial and thorough understanding for those wanting to connect with the market.

Opportunity Exploration
Serviceable items such as mud motors, drill bits, and down-hole tools are among the many specialty tools and products that are used in the drilling and completion process. These items are often sent by hotshot to machine shops and manufacturing facilities in other states long distances from the Bakken region for remanufacturing and recertification.

Manufactured items such as gas lift systems, flare reduction technologies, fluid recycling products, drill pipe and casing, PVC pipe, coated pipes and other products may be candidates for manufacturing in the region.

Connection
The conference provides critical networking and communication opportunities including the attendee connection, networking breaks, and an attendee messaging system that allows you to message one another while controlling who has access to your contact information.

Field Tour
The conference will include equipment examples in the venue. Additionally, Thursday will include several site visits to view the equipment and materials used by the industry to further explore potential opportunities.
