Major ALPR Supplier Adds Red Light Enforcement Offering

INEX/ZAMIR enters into agreement with Italian Red Light and Speed Enforcement technology supplier Intertraff

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., March 9, 2009 — INEX Technologies, the recognized leading supplier of ALPR (Automatic License Plate Reader) equipment for toll road, access control and parking systems, has reached an agreement with Intertraff of Rome, Italy.

INEX suggests that, because of the technological similarities with their existing products and services, they see the Red Light and Speed Violation enforcement area as one they can serve quite well. With their existing authorized reseller network of over 200 dealers around the U.S., INEX feels they are well placed to meet the service requirements of those municipalities for which they will now provide the latest technology Red-Light and Speed Violation enforcement systems.

INEX's stated intention is to be the technology supplier and equipment service center, and not enter into the violation processing business. This is the same model they use in the toll road industry with their proven ALPR technology. "We think there are some very good organizations already in existence and who are better suited to violation processing. We prefer to stay with what we know and that is the hardware and software deployed in the lane," said Jim Kennedy, President of INEX Technologies.

The equipment manufactured by Intertraff is based on the latest digital high-resolution image capture technology. Each system can forward violations to a processing center via Internet, wireless LAN, WAN or other communications link through TCP/IP. The equipment deployed at the intersection is sold under the brand name D-COP and is installed on several hundred intersections in Italy, South Africa, and other locations around the world. In addition to the roadside equipment required for effective Red Light and Speed Violation Enforcement, Intertraff also provides the back office processing software. This software suite is marketed as COPLAND.

Mr. Toni Marzo, President of Intertraff, says, "We have been looking at the North American market for some time and have been in discussion with INEX/ZAMIR for over a year. With their knowledge of the market, as well as the technology, we feel strongly about their ability to introduce the D-COP and COPLAND products into the U.S. We are confident they will provide the same excellent service they now provide to their existing customers."
