Loon Lake Resort's Renovations Add to Oregon's Hidden Treasure

New meeting facilities offer groups an option for scenic retreats

REEDSPORT, Ore., July 10, 2007 — Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort, located at Loon Lake near Reedsport, on the central Oregon Coast, has recently completed the renovation of its cottages and motel rooms and added lakeside recreational vehicle full hook-up sites to the inventory of former RV sites.

In addition, renovation of the "Lakeside House" will be complete mid-July as well as the installation of two yurts on the hillside overlooking the lake. These facilities are available for groups to hold workshops, family reunions, or meetings. The two-bedroom home has a large gathering room with floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and windows with a view of the lake. The full kitchen and meeting room with a capacity of approximately 35 complete the space. The yurts, adjacent to the house, offer versatile space for meetings or lodging.

"We are very excited to now have the capability to bring groups to retreat at Loon Lake," said Robin Schweiterman, the manager of Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort. "The meeting site overlooking the lake will be a popular venue for artist and photography clubs, writer's workshops, family reunions, business or company seminars, or for any group that would be inspired by the great scenery seen from the Lakeside House's location."

The combination of cottage lodging and RV sites, along with tent camp sites, makes experiencing outdoor Oregon accessible to those who want the basic camping experience as well as groups needing full-service accommodations. An on-site restaurant provides meals for individual travelers and groups.

The lake is known for its smooth waters, blocked from the winds by the mountain peaks that surround the entire two-mile-long lake. This recreation area is abundant with activities such as fishing, hunting, hiking, water-skiing, and kayaking. Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort offers amenities that include boat rentals, marina, and general store.

The newly designed web site at displays a photo gallery of the entire property as well as an on-line reservation system for the individual traveler.

Reservations for groups and leisure travelers can be made by calling 1-866-360-3116 or emailing Email.
