Live Music Tutor Is Introducing a Unique Way to Take Music Lessons in the Virtual Classroom

ORLANDO, Fla., July 12, 2012 — Live Music Tutor, LLC (LMT) is an exciting new company based in Orlando that is in the final launch stages before the rollout of their live online interactive music instruction platform, livemusictutor.com, in the third quarter of 2012.

With LMT, aspiring musicians will be able to choose a teacher for any instrument (including vocals), any genre or time of day, regardless of their age, while in the comfort of their own home. The classes can be individual or can be scheduled as part of a group of students in a virtual classroom. No longer will students and instructors be limited by geography, the demand for their instrument of choice or the music genre they love, the whole nation and eventually the world will be as close as their computer.   Whether students are in K-12, college, in a career, a retiree or active adult, LMT will provide the opportunity to learn the way they would like on their own terms.

With opportunities for music instruction continuing to shrink due to a decline in economic conditions, rising gas costs and the number of schools with active music programs along with the costs and hassles involved in finding and scheduling private music tutoring, Jason Goughnour, the founder of Live Music Tutor, wanted to provide a place where musicians and students could meet.

"I created the idea of Live Music Tutor because I am a musician devoted to the advancement of this fine art. Seeing children playing on plastic guitars to video games and professional musicians struggling to make a living, I decided to create a place where we could change things for the better. We could get children involved through the wonders of technology and give musicians a viable way to make a living, all by stripping them of the reasons they use for not being engaged. Price, accessibility and convenience were three goals that needed to be achieved to bring about true change and get people playing music again. Through the Live Music Tutor website, we will do just that and create a place where music and musicians can thrive," he said.

When asked what made LMT unique, Ted Gee, CEO and co-owner, explained the business structure.

"The LMT business model will be built by employing a high volume of music instructors that will teach in focused categories with specific objectives for the students. Instructors will have visible profiles that will include what instruments they teach, genre, skill levels, age groups and available schedules for students to select from. Students will be able to choose instructors from the profiles based on their specific needs and desires," he said.

"The curriculum is comprehensive; however, teachers will have the flexibility to tailor lessons for all music aspirants whether they are looking at music as a career or are looking for a casual diversion and want to learn a song or two. We will have teachers that can provide instruction for beginners, intermediate, advanced and expert levels. Students will be able to progress through the continuum if they choose and will be evaluated by the instructors through a standard system. Students will be able to gain points for classes, tests, practice time, and auditions through our reward system that is geared to be consistent with other gaming platforms on the market today, and will ensure that students are putting in the practice time required to achieve the proficiency and results that they desire. There is also a social media component to our platform and other unique aspects that we will be discussing during our launch," he said.

"Today, many musicians are teaching lessons through Skype and by other creative methods; however, our business model and proprietary technology will provide a unique experience with a level of quality not available in the current marketplace and the ability to provide lessons one to one or one to many at affordable prices," Gee said.

"With its emphasis on choice, variety, flexibility and technology Live Music Tutor is poised to change the way people think about learning and teaching music," he said.
