Lick the Plate host David Boylan had this to say about the event. "I grew up about 5 blocks from Holiday Market so it made perfect sense to team up with them to host this very special celebration.  This is a much different Holiday Market than I knew and its growth is a great representation of the culinary resurgence happening in and around Detroit.  This place is a foodie paradise and the Mirepoix Cooking School space is amazing for events.  That combined with the culinary talent of Chef Shawn Mac will make for a perfect evening to celebrate Lick the Plate coming home to Detroit."

During the past four years, Lick the Plate has interviewed over 200 chefs, restaurant owners, growers, brewers and other San Diego and national culinary personalities.  From San Diego's top chefs and restaurants to small mom and pop eateries, Lick the Plate has covered a wide range of the San Diego culinary scene, the people who drive it and their individual stories that go beyond their work in the kitchen.  The show has already proven itself on KPRI in San Diego, a station that has a very similar Adult Album Alternative format and audience to The River. That combined with a Detroit culinary scene that is exploding made Lick the Plate a perfect fit for The River. "Hosting Lick the Plate is a great way for The River to show our support for the culinary community by promoting the chefs and owners who work tirelessly to bring great food to Detroit and the surrounding areas," said Kevin Miller, Sales Manager at 93.9 The River.
