"I am extremely honored to have been invited back to the Champion Honors Luncheon and to share the stage with my close friend and baseball great Hank Aaron. I have long claimed that Hank was the greatest player of his era and I am pleased to join him in a forum that will explore stories and anecdotes that cover his 23-year Hall of Fame career. Hank and I have shared many wonderful moments during a friendship that has lasted more than 50 years. Hank is the living embodiment of the American spirit. I look forward to joining everyone at this luncheon, that benefits the great cause that Barbara and Frank Sinatra started more than 28 years ago," said Selig.

Champion Honors Co-chair, Mr. Hal Gershowitz stated: "Hank is as enthused to be with us for the Champion Honors Luncheon as we are to have him with us.  This will be an unforgettable program that will delight our audience.  Commissioner Selig and Hank Aaron look forward to this first-ever, candid, free-wheeling conversation about the game and the respective roles they both played."

Hank Aaron's Hall of Fame career statistics are most impressive, reaching the .300 mark in batting 14 times, 30 home runs 15 times, 90 RBI 16 times and captured three Gold Glove Awards en-route to 25 All-Star appearances.  He became the all-time home-run leader on April 8, 1974 surpassing Babe Ruth, a title he held for 30 years. Take away all of Hammerin' Hank's 755 career homeruns and he would still have more than 3,000 hits for his career. Boxing legend Muhammad Ali once called Hank Aaron "The only man I idolize more than myself."

Selig served as the 9th MLB Commissioner from 1992 until his retirement as the active Commissioner in 2015.  The position of Commissioner Emeritus of Baseball was created upon his retirement. Selig led the way toward implementation of many of the game's structural changes, including the expanded Wild Card playoff format, Interleague Play, realignment, restoration of the rulebook strike zone, consolidation of the leagues' administrative functions and instant replay.
