Lawson-Hawks Acquires New Corporate Headquarters

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 28, 2004 — John Miller, Chief Executive Officer of Lawson-Hawks Insurance Associates, announced the acquisition of an office complex in Mountain View which will serve as the company's new national corporate headquarters. The structure is located at 1091 Shoreline Boulevard and will offer, upon its remodel, over 35,000 square feet of office space for the sixty-seven year-old multiple-line insurance brokerage.

"With our long history in Mountain View and the Peninsula, we felt compelled to focus our search for an expanded national headquarters right here," said Miller. "Lawson-Hawks has been in the Silicon Valley since it was primarily orchards and a great deal of our growth in recent years is attributable to the loyalty of expanding business customers we have served for decades."

"Even though Lawson-Hawks now enjoys a national footprint as an insurance intermediary, we felt it both appropriate and necessary to retain our local heritage. The new Shoreline Boulevard headquarters permits us to bring a number of our divisions located in other California communities under one roof. This, we believe, will both bolster our efficiencies, but also provide our employees with a great place to live, raise their kids and work," Miller added.

The Lawson-Hawks headquarters building will be located at the southwest corner of Shoreline Boulevard and Highway 101, two blocks from their current corporate headquarters. Slated for occupancy on December 1, 2004, the fully remodeled office building will provide state-of-the-art business accommodations, including child-care facilities, a workout and weight room and fully wired teleconference quarters for over one hundred employees.

"In addition to being a wonderful configuration for our current employee contingent, these new facilities give us room to grow our business while maintaining our culture and community ties. Additionally, notwithstanding all of the wonderful advances in technology infrastructure, insurance brokerage remains a face-to-face business. We feel that it is very important to be in a location where a majority of our customers can walk into our offices, should they choose to do so. In its own way, this personal availability and accountability in an era of financial services disintermediation, has been directly responsible for our growth and success," added Miller.
