LAC Group and Bridgeborn Continue to Support USAID Global Mission

LOS ANGELES, June 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Information support that helped aid workers in remote parts of Afghanistan during the war. Research that helped rescue and recovery efforts in Haiti immediately after the 2010 earthquake. Data that's been included in the President's briefing materials aboard Air Force One.  This is a sampling of notable work done over the last several years by LAC Group and Bridgeborn for USAID, the U.S. Government agency working to end extreme global poverty and enable resilient, democratic societies.

Bridgeborn has been re-awarded the prime contract for information services at USAID and has chosen LAC to continue on as subcontracting partner. The two companies have been working together since 2008 to support the information needs of USAID staff, government officials, other global aid agencies and economic development experts.

"We are pleased that Bridgeborn has chosen LAC to continue on as subcontracting partner for USAID," says LAC Federal Programs Director Al Furnari. "I am proud of the work our research and information professionals are doing to keep global aid workers abreast of some of the most dynamic, complex issues in the world today."

As subcontracting partner, LAC Group supports prime contractor Bridgeborn in support of USAID's Knowledge Services Center (KSC) and Development Experience Clearinghouse (DEC). The KSC is the agency's information hub, offering access to its library, research, archives and knowledge management activities. The DEC is the largest online resource of documentation for USAID-funded programs and technical development.

"This contract renewal demonstrates the quality of the work we are doing with LAC Group," says Katharine Murphy, Executive Vice President of Bridgeborn. "We look forward to this opportunity to support the knowledge and information requirements and challenges of USAID for the next five years."
