WIE (https://www.wienetwork.org/) launched its first symposium in New York City in 2010 and has since expanded to Europe and Africa.  The conference brings together thought-leaders from the fields of politics, philanthropy, media, fashion and the arts for two days of thought provoking discussion designed to inspire social change and furnish women with the tools to succeed.

The event begins on September 20th with WIE Inspiration Day where topics include "How To be An Authentic Leader", "What Women Want" and "Women Shaping the News". WIE Enterprise Day on September 21st will feature discussions such as "Tech: The New Frontier"; "The 3-Per Centers" and "The Rise of the Idea Entrepreneur".  The event also includes workshops on everything from Executive Presence to Negotiating Skills.

This year, the organization will also launch The WIE Debate.  Held in association with The Economist, the traditional debate will explore the question "Does Extended Parental Leave Hurt Business" referencing the average 12-week maternity provision offered in the US compared to 36 weeks upwards in most of Europe.

Dee Poku, WIE's Co-Founder and CEO said: "Katie Couric and Nadja Swarovski embody this year's theme.  Both are incredible leaders whose strengths have brought them great success and inspired women around the world.  It's been well documented that so-called female traits such as long-term thinking and collaboration are key to success in business today. The Female Advantage is all about playing to your strengths and staying authentic and we've assembled some very impressive women who will speak to that concept."

The WIE Symposium is supported by a number of partners and sponsors including The Economist, UBS and Audi of America.
