TCBI's "Post-Regulatory Guide to Securities Finance" Breakfast Roundtable features a select group of leading industry insiders presenting real-world solutions for operating in the new regulatory environment.  The 2015 Breakfast Roundtable builds on the success of TCBI's inaugural Roundtable Breakfast that was held in June 2014.

The 2015 edition begins with a special presentation from FINRA. This Regulatory Agency is currently concentrating on Securities Lending as well as other significant "headline" areas of investor concern, and, we will be treated to a special discussion on such timely topics as cybersecurity concerns, the monitoring of complex financial products and the high-risk broker initiative.

Securities Lending Beneficial Owners will also benefit from a fascinating discussion on the effects of major industry changes for lenders, agents and borrowers.  Panelists will review shortfalls in general collateral, allocation methodology, the drop in volume, leverage ratios, risk-weighted assets, and return on capital, CCPs, and the disappearance of global regulatory arbitrage.

Repo and money market investors will hear from the experts about the tremendous market changes that have affected the industry since the onset of the financial crisis.   Among the topics that will be discussed: severe market contraction in a multi-trillion dollar industry; crimped intermediation; alternative sources of liquidity, regulatory consequences currently playing out in the market, and -the emergence of new alternatives and dynamics (e.g., Synthetic Repo, CCPs, Repo exclusives, futures, exchanges, new players, niche broker-dealers, and funders of SIFIs) as well as money market reform implementation.

Jeff Kidwell, TCBI 2014 Breakfast Roundtable Chairman and Head of Direct Repo at AVM, LP and III Associates, summarized the 2014 event as follows:

"Despite my almost 32 years in the REPO & Securities Lending market, and having spoken on or moderated dozens of panels, I would have to say that the TCBI (2014) Breakfast Roundtable was the best panel that I've ever been associated with." Mr. Kidwell further notes that, "among other notable experts, the panel featured Antoine Martin from the Federal Reserve (who authors the Liberty Street blog at the Fed and works on Triparty Repo reform and Shadow Banking reform), Debbie Cunningham of Federated Investors (one of the largest repo market participants, and the foremost expert on money market fund reform in the country), Glenn Horner of State Street (a noted industry expert on Dodd-frank, Shadow Banking, and Basel III). Kathleen Clune and Lance Doherty of Pacific Life Insurance Company, and Patrick Morrissey of The Vanguard Group."
