iWin Battles Bugs in Garden Defense

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 27, 2007 — iWin, Inc., a leading developer and publisher of online casual games, today announced the launch of Garden Defense. Garden Defense is the debut effort of iWin's new game development studio, Division 90, located in Seattle, Wash.

"Seattle is a hotbed of talented individuals and teams, and Division 90 boasts the perfect combination of world-class talent and up-and-coming stars," said Andy Hieke, iWin's General Manager of Production. "Division 90 has designed, developed and produced a new and innovative game for the casual audience. Garden Defense is an excellent debut production from an incredibly talented team – watch this space for more."

In developing Garden Defense, Division 90 takes a popular strategic core gameplay mechanic and re-conceptualizes it, softening the theme, storyline and gameplay experience for the casual game audience.

"In Garden Defense, we managed to peel away the layers of assumptions about what you can or cannot do with action and strategy, and are really thrilled with the result," said iWin Creative Director Andy Megowan. "There's a delicious agony in waging a war and having to rely upon those under your command to do the work for you. You must balance your 'action' against the necessity to 'wait and see.'"

Whoever thought that the relaxing art of gardening could ripen into all-out battle? But with great gardening comes great responsibility.

Garden Defense brings the player to the sleepy suburb of Lindencroft. The town is under attack, and the Smith Family is its only hope! Allen and Laurel Smith team up with their daughter, Charlotte, to investigate the swarms of ravenous critters eating the town's flowers and stop the pests before it's too late. Players must help the Smiths by deploying a wild arsenal of lawn ornaments, bug-fighting plants and other oddball inventions to stop the threat in the Smith's backyard and beyond.

Garden Defense is currently exclusively available from iWin.com where it can be downloaded with a free one-hour trial at http://p.iwin.com/garden-defense. Customers of iWin's iCoins service can purchase Garden Defense for 50 percent off, in addition to receiving exclusive discounts on other iWin games.
