'It's Rodeo Time!': Join Mama Scottie and the Kids on a Wacky Western Adventure

RICHMOND, Texas, Dec. 11, 2009 — Children everywhere will delight in learning about farm animals, cowboys and a real Texas ranch in Elizabeth Scott's newest book, "It's Rodeo Time!: with Mama Scottie and the Kids." The second book in the Mama Scottie and the Kids series, "It's Rodeo Time!" is a joy for cowboys and cowgirls everywhere.

Mama Scottie is a gentle lady who has "adopted" a unique group of unwanted castaway dolls and stuffed animals. In "It's Rodeo Time!," Mama Scottie takes the group on a trip to a Texas ranch. The kids learn how a cowboy changes a horse's shoe, ride in a wagon, and eat like a real cowboy. They visit nearby Houston Rodeo's birthing center to learn how the animals are born and enjoy the vendors, food and fun of the rodeo.

All the while, Mama Scottie teaches the children patience, sharing, a love of learning and conflict resolution with others. "It's Rodeo Time!" stresses how to get along with others without using violence, bullying or arguing. Mama Scottie encourages exploration, observation and compassion, illustrating that learning virtuous lessons can be fun and exciting.

"This story is light and heart-warming, and also humorous," says author Elizabeth Scott. "It contains excitement, adventure and danger without any violence, fighting or arguing."
