According to CorporateINTL, it did an extensive search over a six-month period, compiling nominations from over one million professionals involved in business.  The nominations were provided to a small panel of judges who made the final decision.

Scarinci Hollenbeck's achievement is due to the combined experience and knowledge of the attorneys in its Tax, Trusts, & Estates practice group: Frank L. Brunetti, Partner and Chairman; James F. McDonough, Counsel and editor of the firm's tax blog; and Partners Joseph M. Donegan and Gary S. Young.

"We have positioned ourselves to be a leading tax group in New Jersey and offer clients a sophisticated tax practice rarely seen in a firm our size," said Frank Brunetti. "We are honored that CorpINTL has recognized our hard work."

Mr. Brunetti has his L.L.M. (Master of Laws) in taxation from New York University School of Law and has taught several graduate tax courses at Farleigh Dickinson University for the past thirty-five years. He is also an observer member of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Cooperation in International Tax and speaks annually in Geneva, Switzerland on various areas of tax law, including voluntary off shore account disclosure with the IRS. Mr. McDonough has been a corporate tax attorney for over twenty-five years and has a M.L.T. (Master of Laws in Taxation) from Georgetown University and his L.L.M. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in international taxation and finance.

James F. McDonough said, "No longer are tax issues confined by national borders. Most businesses, by necessity, engage in cross-border activity and are faced with international tax, treaty, tax credit and repatriation issues that a year ago, belonged largely to Fortune 500 companies. Even families now face cross-border income, gift, and estate issues, arising from the migration of members into and out of the U.S., be it permanent or temporary."

The group's success has been highlighted by their popular Tax, Trust, & Estate blog, which provides discussions on some of the most complex areas of tax law including: retirement plan benefits, international tax, gift tax laws, and the preparation of estate taxes, trusts, and wills.
