LOS ANGELES, March 1, 2012 — The health of the national economy and personal pocketbook issues are important to the voters who go to the polls in November 2012 to elect the president. CreditDonkey.com, a consumer education and credit card comparison website, created an infographic to analyze the weight of economic stress that may be felt by voters depending on where they live in the United States. With an unprecedented number of candidates running for president, there is a great deal of political party and Super PAC spending predicted for the months leading up to the November election. The airwaves in key battleground states are likely to be awash in campaign advertising that may, at times, stray from bread-and-butter issues. Yet key economic indicators will likely provide the best clues to the mood of voters in key states.
The infographic illustrates the status of key issues and the voting record for nine states in the last two elections, each of which voted Republican in 2004 and Democratic in 2008.
